Leaders of the Somalia's Federal government and the regional administrations are holding meetings in the capital Mogadishu, ahead of the upcoming London conference on Somalia, Garowe Online reports.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has officially opened the conference at Villa Somalia, with the attendance of leaders from Puntland, Jubaland, Southwest, Galmudug and Hirshabelle.
The closed-door summit will focus on ways to strengthen relations between the Federal government and regional administrations, security, drought and scheduled international conference on Somalia hosted in UK in May 11.
London conference will bring together Somali leaders, international donors and partners to discuss efforts to rebuild the nation in the areas of security, infrastructure, public service and avert looming humanitarian crisis in the country.
The Federal government and regional leaders are expected to release a joint communique after concluding the conference later today, according to sources at Villa Somalia.
This is the first official meeting between President Farmaajo with leaders of the Federal member state since his election in February 8 by the country's lawmakers in Mogadishu, the Somali capital.
