Since the Galkayo accord was signed in August 23, 2009 there has been a deteriorating working relationship on the part of the TFG leadership towards Puntland.
HE.Abdi Hasan Jimale
- Puntland is concerned about the lack of implementation and progress of the above cited accord.
- Puntland is also worried about the unwillingness of the TFG leadership to make progress on the draft Federal Constitution.
- Puntland is concerned about the vicious infighting among the TFG leadership which also puts in question the viability of the TFG itself.
- Puntland is also extremely concerned the negative attitude that the TFG leadership assumes towards Puntland progress in the arena of public diplomacy by threatening to dismiss the foreign diplomats originating from Puntland.
- Puntland is also concerned about the letter published, recently on “the Huffington Post” on the 5th November by the special envoy of the TFG President to Washington, criticizing “the USA two track police toward Somalia”.
- Puntland is also concerned about the TFG’s increasing support of the subversive elements tending to destabilize Puntland and creating tension in the region.
In light of the above serious issues, which discourage Puntland state of Somalia to continue its partnership with the TFG leadership, we may be compelled to review our entire working relationship with the TFG in the future.
