At least 10 people have been killed and dozens more injured in Mogadishu heavy battle between Al shabaab and Somali government forces, Ahlus Sunna fighters supported by African union peace keepers, witnesses said Thursday.


Local dwellers told the fighting commenced with heavy gun-battle which rocked parts of the sea side capital Mogadishu.
They stated that the fighting broke out after Al shabaab fighters attacked several military positions of AMISOM, government and Ahlu Sunna in the capital.


Most of the fighting took place in the neighborhoods of Siigaale and Taleeh in Hodan district.


No comments about the combat were immediately available fro government, AMISOM and Al shabaab movement.
Mogadishu health officials said all the victims were civilian people hit by cross fire and haphazard shell.
