The administration of Gedo region of Somali transitional federal government on Monday proclaimed it doesn’t recognize the existence of Azania state, a newly coalesced administration for Gedo, and Jubba regions.

Mohammed Abdi Kalil, the governor of Gedo region in southern Somalia, accused the new administration of Azania has a strong ties with Al shabaab, which is committed to topple Somali government.

He said that the new wrangle among Somali military officials in Elwak town is behind by the Azania state led by former minister of Somali government, Mohamed Abdi Gandi.

He said that Azania is not responsible for what is going on in the region of Gedo and others districts.

On Sunday, Somali government soldiers vacated from Busar village and Al shabaab immediately confiscated peacefully.

But, Kalil says that Al shabaab doesn’t have the ability to be present there longer.
