Abdirashid Janan, the former Jubaland Security Minister, has been reported as missing in Nairobi, Kenya, for the past seven days, according to statements from his family members. The current Jubbaland State Minister of Security, Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhumaal, is urging the Kenyan government's security agencies to provide information about Janan's whereabouts and safety.

Minister Dhumaal emphasized the need for prompt action by the Kenyan government, particularly its security agencies, to locate Minister Janan, who has been unaccounted for in Nairobi. Ugas Mohamed Ugas Ahmed, the traditional elder of the Marehan clan, has also called on the Kenyan government to take official measures to find and ensure the safety of Abdirashid Janan, highlighting the government's responsibility to protect the lives and property of Somali individuals within its territory.

In 2021, Abdirashid Janan, who had previously clashed with the federal government, surrendered to the central government as part of an agreement with Mogadishu. However, he later found himself in conflict with federal government leaders, aligning himself with the opposition. Recent reports suggested that he had been residing in Kenya before his disappearance. The circumstances surrounding his missing status remain unclear.
