Reports from Toratorow, a village in lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia, say that Hizbul Islam fighters overnight deserted parts of that region.
Harakat Al shabaab are reported to have peacefully seized parts of Lower Shabelle where Hizbul Islam had been controlling for the last two years.
This incident followed days of fighting which rival Islamists Al shabaab and Hizbul Islam had been struggling over the control of Bur-hakaba, a district about 110 KM southwest of Somalia's capital Mogadishu.
The villages of Furuqley, Farsooley and Dugulle in lower Shabelle region have also fallen in the hands of Al shabaab, according to local residents.
Tense situation is, right now, reported from Afgoye, one of the last Hizbul Islam controlled areas in the region as Al shabaab fighters are approaching the town about 30 KM southwest of Mogadishu.
Some critics say that is part of al shabaab moves to revolve its administration all the regions in southern and central Somalia.
